When the time comes to replace your radiators it’s important to choose the right ones as they will need to provide you with a comfortable and warm home throughout the colder parts of the year.

Henrad offer a wide selection of radiators in many shapes and sizes; their compact range offers great style and performance all at an affordable cost so it’s no surprise why they are a first choice for many homes over the UK. There are many different sizes and styles so doing some research and speaking to your installer will help you get an idea of the type and size that you require.

Summary

In this article we hope to outline the different radiator types and sizes within Henrad’s Compact range. Here at TDL we understand the world of radiators can seem daunting but we aim to give you a better understanding of what Henrad’s compact series has to offer so you can make the right decision for your home.

Overview

The Henrad Compact radiators feature a slim profile with a smooth white finish helping them blend into any home setting.

The Henrad Compact range come in many different heights, widths and types so you are sure to find the right one for your home. Finding the exact dimensions of the radiator you require is your first port of call, this is especially important if your only looking to replace your current one as you would have to make sure it fits within the current pipework (unless your upgrading to a bigger radiator).

There are three main radiator types within Henrad’s Compact series these are Type 11, Type 21 and Type 22 as seen below. These are in reference to the design of the radiator but more specifically how many panels and convectors the radiator has.

  • Type 11: Single panel, single convector radiator.
  • Type 21: Double panel, single convector radiator.
  • Type 22: Double panel, double convector radiator.

A panel is in reference to the main face/side that faces you and the room or if it’s a double panel this would also have a panel on the other side that faces the wall it’s mounted to. A convector is in reference to the wavy fins that travel end to end on the inside of the radiator.

You might be wondering why having more or less panels and convectors matter but there is a reason behind it. Having double panels rather than single gives a bigger surface area for heat to be produced and you will have both panels heating up rather than just one. Having double convectors rather than single will give you a better convection/distribution of heat into the room.

Final overview

It all boils down to what size and type you feel suits your home, if you’re looking for a radiator for a small room then maybe a smaller Type 11 model (single panel & convector) is sufficient, but if you’re looking for a radiator for a large room you may need a bigger Type 22 model (double panel & convector) in order to effectively heat it.

As a general rule we always advise you speak with your installer before making any decisions as they are able to give you there professional opinion upon assessing your property’s needs.
